My wife Leann grew up in Denver Colorado. I grew up in Elkhart Indiana. We met at the University of Denver. My wife and I moved to Chicago in 2010 and love everything the city has to offer. There is a certain energy in Chicago that is exciting and refreshing. A velocity of life, business, people, culture and experiences we are grateful to be apart of and share as a family. We live in the Lakeview neighborhood. Our family enjoys making the most of the lakefront. Including going to the beach, the parks, playing sports, riding bikes and visiting the many museums the city has to offer.
Living next to the busiest airport in the United States has its perks. We love to travel, have experiences, learn and visit cultures internationally. In 2019 we enjoyed a trip to Japan. Visiting Tokyo, Kyoto, Mt. Fuji and Osaka. We enjoyed learning about Japanese history and culture. We ate amazing food from sushi to soba noodles, boba tea to matcha. Visited castles, palaces and shrines. We had generous and informative guides and enjoyed fast comfortable travel on high speed trains.
Bunker Labs - Military Community
Serving in the Army and deploying twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom as a field artillery officer taught me lot about myself, other people and the world. Working with Americans from all over the country and international partners was a humbling and inspiring experience.
In 2018 shortly after launching Sterling Edge Financial. I was selected to be apart of Bunker Labs, Veterans in Residence Program. The program was very helpful in developing my mindset as a business owner. It provided a community of fellow entrepreneurs to collaborate with and discuss business strategy, marketing, business operation concepts, business ideas and events.
Today I enjoy connecting with fellow veterans and serving veterans professionally and by way of my network.
We offer discounted financial planning engagements for military veterans and Bunker Labs businesses.
From 2006 - 2010 I served with 1-14 Field Artillery Battalion, 214th Fires Brigade based in Fort Sill,OK. While in the military I had the opportunity to attend several schools and deployed twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Cycling & Running
When I get time I really enjoy running and cycling. I have run the Chicago Marathon twice and completed five centuries (100 mile bike rides). Including the Hotter Than Hell 100 in Wichita Falls, TX three times.
While I have a Trek today. This is a picture of a high racer recumbent bike I road around 2010. It was a really good bike for long distance rides. Helping me complete the Hotter Than Hell 100 in 4 hours and 30 minutes and the Oklahoma City century in 4 hours and 51 minutes.
My daughter Kate is very caring, always looking to help others. She loves to read, swim and try new things. From sports to ballet and the occasional Nintendo Game. She recently learned how to ride her bike this summer and is excited to go back to school this fall.
Her favorite show is Barbie. Favorite song is "You'll be back" from Hamilton. Favorite color is pink.
Nick is quite the character. Always smiling and laughing. He loves watching Paw Patrol. His favorite song is Song 2 by Blur. He loves riding his bike and scooter. When we cannot get outside Nick enjoys playing Luigi's Third Manson on Nintendo.
